Junior Software Engineer

About the role

Medtronic’s CathWorks team is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to develop next‑generation software for interventional cardiology. You will work on real‑time angiographic imaging applications that directly support life‑critical procedures in the cath lab.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug and maintain complex applications that process and visualise angiographic data in real time.
• Collaborate with algorithm developers, test engineers, biomedical engineers and product specialists in an agile environment to enhance existing tools and create new solutions.
• Implement operating‑system components, software tools and utilities, and ensure system improvements increase efficiency.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a software developer.
• Strong object‑oriented design and multi‑threading skills.

Required skills

• High proficiency in C++ and C#.NET.
• Experience with WPF.
• Hands‑on experience with computer‑vision and image‑processing, GPU programming (CUDA preferred), MATLAB/MATLAB API, VTK, OpenGL and medical imaging libraries such as DCMTK.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
