Senior Analog and RF Engineer - Capsule Endoscopy
medtronic · Yoqneam Illit
Job description
About the role
Medtronic is looking for a Senior Analog and RF Engineer to join its capsule endoscopy team. The role drives the design, development and integration of the analog and RF communication path between the capsule inside the patient's digestive system and the external recorder worn by the patient. It works closely with System Engineers, PCB design and layout, firmware developers, modem algorithm engineers and mechanical design teams.
Key responsibilities
- Own and drive the analog and RF communication path from architecture definition through detailed design.
- Work with semiconductor suppliers and technology partners on system-on-chip definition, development and integration of custom IC/ASIC solutions.
- Research and define receiver and transmitter architectures (Zero-IF, Low-IF/NZ-IF, Superheterodyne and others).
- Perform system-level RF and analog analysis: noise budget, link budget, dynamic range, sensitivity, linearity, distortion, interference and channel performance.
- Develop simulation models to validate architecture and design before hardware implementation.
- Design and specify transmitter and receiver signal paths, including filtering, amplification, gain stages and matching networks.
- Analyze and optimize antenna design, matching, efficiency, radiation characteristics and interaction with the capsule and biological environment.
- Drive system-on-chip designs from proof-of-concept and lab prototypes to production-ready medical devices.
Required profile
- BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in very low power analog and RF engineering, preferably in wireless communication systems, RFICs or mixed-signal systems.
- Familiarity with SoC/mixed-signal architecture and RF and analog communication architectures.
- Proven experience designing analog/RF transmitters and receivers, including filters, amplifiers, LNAs, PAs, mixers and matching networks.
- Strong understanding of PCB-level RF implementation: layout, grounding, shielding, power integrity, signal integrity and RF isolation.
Preferred qualifications
- Writing design and technical specifications.
- Simulation techniques for transmitter, receiver and antenna performance.
- Lab measurement equipment and lab work.
- Board design, medical equipment development process and RF compliance standards.
What we offer
- A competitive salary and a flexible benefits package.
- Eligibility for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
