OpEx Engineer – student position

About the role

Join Medtronic’s production site as an OpEx Engineer student and gain hands‑on experience improving manufacturing processes. You will work 2‑3 days a week on‑site, supporting operational excellence initiatives and learning the Medtronic Performance System.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Production Floor Manager in driving OpEx initiatives across the production floor.
• Observe, map, and analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for flow, productivity, and labor efficiency improvements.
• Apply structured problem‑solving methods such as A3, DMAIC, and Kaizen to support improvement projects.
• Collect and analyse operational data to spot trends, losses, and optimisation opportunities.
• Help develop and improve standard work, visual management, and process documentation.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (3rd or 4th year).
• Strong interest in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and data‑based problem solving.
• Basic knowledge of OpEx tools and methods, including A3, DMAIC, and Kaizen.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional teamwork.
• Availability to work on‑site 2‑3 days per week.
