Senior Procurement Specialist – Strategic Buyer

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead strategic sourcing and supplier partnerships for its Jerusalem facility. The role bridges internal engineering, quality, and planning teams with global contract manufacturers and component suppliers to ensure uninterrupted production of life‑saving medical technology.

Key responsibilities

• Source, purchase, plan and schedule raw materials, components, services and finished goods through production and inventory processes.
• Maintain contract manufacturer continuity by resolving material shortages, escalations and production stoppages.
• Identify alternative electronic components for end‑of‑life or missing parts to protect manufacturing workflows.
• Lead purchase price variance (PPV) approvals, negotiate with suppliers and monitor performance.
• Develop long‑term sourcing strategies that reduce cost of ownership, mitigate risk and improve cycle times.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, planning and CM teams to align schedules and procurement needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 5‑7 years of sourcing or supply‑chain experience.
• Proven expertise managing contract‑manufacturer networks and electronic component supply chains.
• Strong track record in cost negotiation, PPV management and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Experience locating alternative components under rapid problem‑solving conditions.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and external supplier management skills.
