Decision Scientist

About the role

Forter is hiring a Decision Scientist in Tel Aviv to own the accuracy, robustness and performance of its e-commerce fraud decisioning system, which is widely regarded as a leader in the industry. The role sits in the Decision Science and Analytics department, combining deep data research, real-time production decisioning systems and real-world impact. It offers growth paths toward both senior individual contributor and managerial positions.

Key responsibilities

• Invent, design, implement and continuously refine the core decisioning logic and models running in live production systems
• Research complex fraud patterns, adversarial behaviors and emerging threats
• Use rich datasets to generate insights, build system components and advance feature engineering
• Build automatic tools and processes with agentic tools such as Claude Code to improve accuracy, scalability and efficiency
• Work closely with engineers, product managers and business stakeholders on AI-driven technology

Required profile

• Psychometric score above 700 or equivalent (e.g. GMAT)
• Either at least 4 years of hands-on experience in quantitative hypothesis-driven research, algorithmic development or product development, or an MSc or PhD in a quantitative field
• A record of high achievement
• Ability to explain complex technical ideas to a wide audience
• Experience building things with AI, such as agentic workflows, apps and automations, with an example you can describe

Required skills

• Extensive experience with large-scale datasets using Python, R or Matlab
• Bonus: deep familiarity with machine learning concepts and a background in risk analysis, intelligence or adversarial research

Hybrid work: team members near the key hubs are expected to work from the office at least three days per week.
