About the role

The Department of Physics at the University of Haifa seeks a tenure‑track faculty member at the senior‑lecturer level (equivalent to assistant professor) to start in October 2027. The position welcomes candidates in theoretical physics, theoretical/experimental biophysics, or astrophysics.

Key responsibilities

Establish and lead an internationally recognized research group.
Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
Secure external research funding.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, initially in English with a transition to Hebrew.

Required profile

Ph.D. in physics or a closely related discipline.
Post‑doctoral research experience with a strong publication record.
Demonstrated ability to develop an independent research agenda.
Willingness to teach in Hebrew after an adjustment period.
