About the role
The Department of Physics at the University of Haifa seeks a tenure‑track faculty member at the senior‑lecturer level (equivalent to assistant professor) to start in October 2027. The position welcomes candidates in theoretical physics, theoretical/experimental biophysics, or astrophysics.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and lead an internationally recognized research group.
- Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
- Secure external research funding.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, initially in English with a transition to Hebrew.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in physics or a closely related discipline.
- Post‑doctoral research experience with a strong publication record.
- Demonstrated ability to develop an independent research agenda.
- Willingness to teach in Hebrew after an adjustment period.
