Student Buyer / Material Specialist

About the role

GE HealthCare is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Industrial Engineering & Management student (2nd year or above) to join its Materials team as a Student Buyer / Material Specialist in Rehovot. You will support procurement activities, work directly with suppliers, monitor material availability and help ensure uninterrupted supply to production.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders in ERP systems
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery dates and shipment status
• Monitor material shortages and support mitigation activities
• Track open orders and proactively resolve supply issues
• Maintain accurate procurement and supplier data
• Support inventory management and material planning
• Help generate reports and analyse procurement and inventory data
• Take part in supplier communication and performance follow-up
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the Materials and Supply Chain organisation

Required profile

• Industrial Engineering & Management student (2nd year or above)
• Availability to work 3 full working days per week
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in English and Hebrew
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/SAP is an advantage)
• Preferred: previous experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics or operations, and knowledge of inventory management and material planning concepts
