Senior Staff Software Engineer (AppSec, Armis)

About the role

ServiceNow is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for its AppSec engineering team in Armis R&D in Tel Aviv. The team builds Armis Centrix for Application Security, an AI-native product that has grown into a core product line. The role suits someone who wants to take a product from its first customers to enterprise scale, own outcomes end to end and raise the bar for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead, hands-on in architecture, design and the critical paths of the codebase.
• Design and build LLM-based agents and pipelines that analyze real-world codebases at scale, covering orchestration, tool use, context engineering and deterministic components.
• Own evaluation-driven development: evaluation harness, golden datasets, regression gates in CI, and cost and latency tracking.
• Design multi-tenant microservice cloud environments with security by design.
• Drive planning, estimation and delivery, turning designs into clear, estimated work.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and code, and set engineering standards, with a path toward formal team leadership as the team grows.
• Work with product, customers, support, sales and leadership, and collaborate with colleagues across Israel, the US, Canada and India.

Required profile

• 8+ years of deep backend/systems experience, with strong Python and production experience in a multi-tenant microservice cloud environment.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based agents or agentic pipelines in production, including orchestration, tool use, context engineering, model selection and cost and latency at scale.
• Experience evaluating them: an evaluation harness, golden datasets or benchmark suites you built or owned, and the ability to show how a change improved the system.
• A track record of owning outcomes end to end, including a failed commitment and how it was handled.
• Security engineering mindset: tenant isolation, access control and secure design are non-negotiable.
• Tech lead or team lead experience, keeping hands in the code; formal management experience is a plus.
• Excellent English for working across time zones.
