Senior Staff Full-Stack Engineer

About the role

ServiceNow's Advanced Technology Group builds intelligent software and AI-powered work experiences, combining AI workers, workflows, chat, knowledge and integrations. It is looking for an experienced, backend-leaning full-stack engineer who can take a problem and solve it across the product and system, with autonomy to shape problems, make architectural decisions and own work from idea through production.

Key responsibilities

• Build AI-powered product capabilities across React, Node.js, PostgreSQL and shared contracts.
• Own features from product definition and system design through implementation, testing, deployment and operation.
• Design secure APIs, authorization rules, data models and backward-compatible migrations.
• Build reliable asynchronous and realtime workflows using queues, pub/sub, jobs, schedules and WebSockets.
• Develop enterprise integrations involving OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, external APIs and vendor failures.
• Protect tenant boundaries and validate untrusted input across HTTP, sockets, queues and AI tool execution.
• Build, deploy and operate services on AWS and Kubernetes, and diagnose production issues using logs, traces, metrics, databases and message brokers.
• Work with product, frontend, AI and platform engineers while evolving engineering practices as AI changes software design.

Required profile

• Strong TypeScript fundamentals and production experience with React and Node.js.
• A track record of driving complex, customer-facing features end to end with visible product impact.
• Experience with asynchronous or distributed systems: queues, pub/sub, WebSockets, retries and idempotency.
• Sound judgment on API, schema and backward compatibility, and strong security instincts for multi-tenant authorization, credentials, uploads and external input.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, API and end-to-end testing.
• Product judgment and comfort working without heavy specification or process overhead.
• High ownership: accountability for reliability and customer outcomes after the code ships.
• Mandatory hands-on AI Development Lifecycle (ADLC) experience: shipping software using AI across discovery, design, implementation, testing, review, documentation and production debugging, validating AI-generated work and designing reliable AI execution paths.
