Senior Software Engineer - Prism Security

About the role

The Prism team builds the systems that turn Elastic Security's raw data into a trustworthy picture of users, hosts and services in a customer's environment, powering the Entity Store, entity risk scoring, entity resolution and the data maintainers analysts use. As a senior engineer you will lead technical work across this area, partnering with product, design and engineering to turn hard, ambiguous problems into reliable, performant systems. The team is distributed, working across time zones in GitHub, Slack, design reviews and code reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Own small-to-medium projects from technical design through production, including data modeling, background tasks and APIs.
• Make features fast and reliable at scale: profile and optimize queries, handle timeouts and design for a range of customer topologies.
• Write high-quality TypeScript and React code, with Node.js services and APIs where needed.
• Build telemetry, tests and safeguards so systems behave predictably in production.
• Review code, support teammates and improve team practices.
• Partner with teams across Elastic Security, Kibana, Elasticsearch/ES|QL and Support.

Required profile

• Several years of experience building and maintaining production software.
• Has successfully led projects from conception to deployment.
• A proven track record of using AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems and optimize code, while owning the final outcomes.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and teams and switch between projects and codebases as priorities change.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a distributed team through asynchronous, direct and transparent communication.

Required skills

• Deep TypeScript and JavaScript skills, especially with React and Node.js.
• Bonus: experience with Kibana, Elasticsearch or Elastic Security, SIEM/UEBA, performance profiling and optimization, and AI-assisted or agent-guided workflows with human controls.
