Senior Software Engineer - Medical Imaging

About the role

CathWorks, part of Medtronic, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build next-generation software for interventional cardiology. The software processes and visualizes angiographic imaging in real time within the cath lab, working with algorithm developers, test and automation engineers, biomedical engineers and product specialists in an agile environment. The work spans the full stack, from high-performance, multithreaded and GPU-accelerated processing to clinical-facing visualization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write, debug, test and maintain complex applications that process and visualize angiographic imaging in real time.
• Deliver, and/or manage, assigned projects and work with stakeholders to achieve results.
• Design, develop, test, debug and implement operating system components, software tools and utilities.
• Determine systems software design requirements and ensure improvements are implemented and monitored.
• Generate systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a C++ Senior Software Developer.
• Individual contributor with responsibility for technical functions, able to work independently under limited supervision and coach other engineers.

Required skills

• High proficiency in C++, C# and .NET, familiarity with WPF.
• Strong object-oriented design and strong multi-threading programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with application development in a production environment.
• Advantageous: computer vision, image processing, GPU programming (preferably CUDA), MATLAB, VTK, OpenGL, medical imaging (preferably DCMTK) and agile methodologies.
