Senior Mechanical Designer - Ultrasound POC

About the role

An experienced, self-driven Senior Mechanical Engineer is sought to join the Ultrasound Point of Care (POC) R&D team. The role leads the mechanical design, development, verification and transition to manufacturing (NPI) of compact ultrasound systems, consoles and system accessories, covering full end-to-end ownership from concept and detailed CAD modeling to tooling approvals and manufacturing line integration.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical design and electronics packaging of compact ultrasound hardware, consoles, suspended masses, sheet metal structures and custom accessories, from concept through mass production.
• Collaborate with external subcontractors, injection molding suppliers, tooling vendors and design agencies, including overseas suppliers in China and globally.
• Oversee DFM reviews, tool design approvals, sample inspections and root-cause analysis for plastic injection parts, metal forming, castings and extrusions.
• Author and maintain technical documentation such as DRS, VPR and VRS, ECR/ECO, assembly drawings and BOM.
• Ensure compliance with medical device standards, cleaning and disinfection guidelines (ISO 17664), system labeling and environmental/regulatory requirements.
• Design test fixtures, write verification plans, run mechanical tests and support assembly floors and production lines.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering design for electro-mechanical systems or medical devices.
• Proven track record working with subcontractors, design partners, industrial designers and overseas manufacturing plants.
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Hebrew.

Required skills

• Advanced SolidWorks (plastic enclosures, surfacing, sheet metal, complex assemblies).
• Plastic injection molding, tooling approvals, sheet metal fabrication, machining, metal finishes, extrusions and ultrasonic welding.
• PLM/PDM tools (e.g. ENOVIA, SolidWorks PDM) and ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
• Experience in a regulated environment under ISO 13485 design controls and ISO 17664.
