About the role
Forter is a trust platform for leading eCommerce merchants, processing over 10 million daily decisions to protect $500 B in GMV. The Decision Engineering team owns the core decision engine, ensuring strict latency (p99 < 500 ms) and five‑nines availability while supporting a large data enrichment topology.
Key responsibilities
- Own one of Forter’s most business‑critical areas, overseeing development to meet SLAs and maintain long‑term quality.
- Guide top‑tier engineers (including Staff+) in planning and executing high‑risk, high‑impact projects.
- Mentor engineers to deepen business‑value understanding and focus innovation on high‑ROI initiatives.
- Innovate around the engine’s capabilities, APIs and agentic interfaces, shaping the product‑space for Forter customers.
Required profile
- 5+ years of experience managing business‑critical teams.
- Individual contributor experience as a Staff+ Engineer or Tech Lead.
- Proven track record overseeing large projects with technical and business risk.
- Experience in performance‑critical, high‑scale environments with demanding SLAs.
