Staff Engineer, AI Platform

About the role

Fireblocks is building a secure, enterprise‑grade platform for digital assets and needs a Staff Engineer to own its internal AI platform. You will be responsible for designing, building, and operating the shared AI foundation that powers AI‑enabled tools across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain production‑grade AI platform code, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
• Define the platform roadmap, prioritize features, and collaborate with engineering, product, go‑to‑market, and operations stakeholders.
• Drive an AI‑first mindset by identifying high‑leverage AI opportunities and guiding teams on best practices.

Required profile

• Extensive staff‑level engineering experience building high‑scale systems and staying hands‑on with code.
• Deep understanding of modern AI systems, including frontier‑model APIs, multi‑agent orchestration, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Product‑oriented communication skills, able to translate stakeholder needs into clear roadmaps and executive‑level updates.
• Experience designing model routing gateways that balance cost, latency, capability, and data sensitivity.

Required skills

• Frontier‑model APIs and multi‑agent orchestration.
• Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Model routing and gateway implementation.
• Cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Security‑first design principles, including guardrails, least‑privilege access, and audit mechanisms.
