Lead Security Researcher - AI Threat Intelligence

About the role

Cato Networks seeks a Lead Security Researcher to drive AI‑focused threat intelligence. You will analyze massive security datasets, develop insights on adversarial tactics, and share findings through reports, blogs, and conference presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research on AI‑related threats, threat actors, and emerging attack techniques.
• Analyze internal and external security data to uncover attack patterns, campaigns, and actionable intelligence.
• Explore large‑scale datasets using SQL and other analysis methods to generate research insights.
• Build tools, workflows, and agentic systems to automate research, investigation, and intelligence production.
• Publish high‑quality research (blogs, reports, threat summaries) and present at conferences, webinars, and customer events.
• Collaborate with product, data, engineering, and research teams to improve detections and product intelligence.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or security research.
• Strong understanding of the threat landscape, including malware, phishing, C&C, exploitation, cloud threats, and attacker behavior.
• Proven experience with threat intel frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, IOCs, TTPs, and campaign tracking.
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills in English.
• Self‑learner with high curiosity, strong ownership, and ability to manage complex research independently.

Required skills

• SQL for large‑scale security data analysis.
• AI tools, AI coding assistants, and agentic workflows for research automation.
• Scripting or building internal tools/agentic systems.
• MITRE ATT&CK knowledge.
• Experience with XDR, MDR, SIEM, EDR, NDR, SASE, or cloud security products.
