IT Coordinator – Academic IT Support

About the role

The Weizmann School of Science seeks an IT Coordinator to act as the primary liaison between the school and the Institute’s Information Technology Division. You will handle, coordinate, and escalate technology‑related requests that support teaching, research, and administrative activities, both on‑site and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote technical support for staff, handling complex Tier 2 issues across computing, hardware, operating systems, applications, and digital services.
• Coordinate requests with infrastructure, applications, development, and operations teams, ensuring proper escalation and adherence to service‑level agreements.
• Support technology projects from definition through testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
• Document requests, track progress, and continuously improve the service experience.
• Train users, create knowledge documents, and make technical information readily accessible.

Required profile

• Computer technician qualification or a relevant professional degree.
• Minimum two years of technical support experience, including experience in an organizational or academic environment.
• Full proficiency in Hebrew and English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and beyond regular hours when needed.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft environment (Windows, Office, Active Directory).
• Familiarity with the Mac operating system.
• Hands‑on experience with computer hardware, end‑user devices, drivers, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with ITSM and CRM systems for documentation and ticket management.
• Application support and ability to guide users through information‑system workflows.
