Indirect Buyer – Strategic Sourcing

About the role

The Indirect Buyer will manage strategic sourcing contracts for Alstom’s indirect spend, covering the full procurement cycle from supplier identification to invoicing. Working closely with internal clients, the role ensures that purchases of parts and services meet quality, cost, and delivery targets while supporting the company’s mobility projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy commodity strategies aligned with QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) objectives.
• Handle the complete purchase order process, from request to invoice, for Alstom entities.
• Identify project and business needs, prepare and launch RFQs, and negotiate cost reductions.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers across multiple project sites.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct QCD reviews, and address initial issues.
• Ensure compliance with Alstom Transport code of ethics and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; Master’s degree in purchasing or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar indirect procurement role.
• Fluent written and spoken English; French language skills are a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to travel without restriction.
