Image Processing Software Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials you will dive deep into cutting‑edge technologies such as machine learning and AI to create novel software solutions that address high‑value problems for semiconductor and display customers. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software for equipment components and devices, ensuring quality and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate massive software components for next‑generation image‑processing front‑end systems.
• Analyze, learn and optimize existing software solutions.
• Implement optimized software for specific image‑processing algorithms.
• Advise on development methodologies targeting high performance.
• Leverage modern software frameworks to support optimization efforts.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of C++ development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Strong skills in software architecture, system analysis, problem solving, debugging and OOP.
• Python development experience (advantage).
• Embedded systems development experience (advantage).
• Experience writing CUDA kernels for GPU acceleration (advantage).
