Director of Product Management – Financial Products

About the role

HoneyBook is seeking a senior product leader to own and expand its financial-products portfolio, including payments processing, banking, lending and instant payouts. The Director will shape strategy, drive new initiatives that leverage these capabilities, and act as the market pulse for emerging fintech trends that can benefit HoneyBook members.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product portfolio: payments, Balance (banking), Capital (lending), instant payouts, and territory expansion.
• Identify, scope and launch new standalone initiatives that use HoneyBook’s financial products, guiding them from concept through product-market fit.
• Monitor fintech and embedded-finance trends, bringing relevant innovations to the platform ahead of competitors.
• Manage relationships with core vendors (Stripe, Plaid, Unit, QuickBooks), including contract negotiation, escalation handling and roadmap alignment.
• Define and defend the economics of the portfolio – GPV, take-rate, unit economics, margins, fraud loss appetite and vendor costs.
• Set decision frameworks, success metrics and kill-signals, ensuring accountability and clear outcomes.

Required profile

• Commercial product leader with deep passion for fintech and a track record of delivering high-impact financial products.
• Strong ownership mindset – able to decide when to scale, reshape or discontinue a product.
• Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Analytical rigor to evaluate unit economics and market opportunities.

Required skills

• Experience integrating and managing Stripe.
• Familiarity with Plaid APIs.
• Knowledge of Unit’s banking-as-a-service platform.
• Working with QuickBooks for financial data integration.
