Senior Staff Hardware Engineer (Optical DSP & AEC)

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Hardware Design Engineer to join our Application Engineering team, supporting next‑generation Optical DSP, Active Electrical Cable (AEC) and Optical Transceiver solutions for AI and cloud infrastructure. The role involves designing, developing, bringing up, validating and supporting evaluation platforms used for customer engagements, product characterization and application development.

Key responsibilities

• Own evaluation board (EVB) projects from specification through validation, creating hardware specs, schematics, PCB layout requirements and assembly guidelines.
• Lead hardware bring‑up, debugging and signal‑/power‑integrity analysis for application engineering platforms.
• Serve as the primary hardware liaison for internal teams and external customers, driving successful product adoption.
• Perform first‑power‑on activities, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware issues, and support system characterization and reliability testing.
• Assist customers integrating DSP products into optical transceivers and AEC platforms, reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, and guiding bring‑up and qualification.
• Analyze power delivery networks, run power‑integrity simulations, evaluate voltage ripple, transient response and decoupling effectiveness, and optimize power architectures.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in high‑speed hardware development and PCB design for SerDes or optical transceiver applications.
• Strong experience with schematic capture, PCB design review and hardware development processes.
• Familiarity with high‑speed PAM4 signaling and related optical DSP technologies.
