Senior Software Architect – Frontend (SEM)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Architect to join our dynamic team. You will own the architecture of large‑scale, data‑dense frontend systems for our Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) products, designing solutions that align with the organization’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end frontend architecture for one or more SEM domains, including client applications, shared UI infrastructure, rendering, and real‑time data flows.
• Design and evolve large, complex frontend architectures built on React, TypeScript, and Redux, with deep expertise in rendering performance at scale.
• Architect a micro‑frontend ecosystem using Module Federation, defining boundaries, managing shared dependencies, and enabling independent deployment.
• Collaborate with backend and algorithm teams on API design, data contracts, and performance trade‑offs.
• Lead frontend performance engineering, establishing profiling, measurement, budgets, and concrete optimisations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in architecture roles for web clients.
• Proven track record designing large, complex frontend platforms and driving adoption across multiple teams.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, distributed systems, and ability to evaluate cross‑stack trade‑offs.

Required skills

• React (or Angular / VueJS) with TypeScript
• State‑management libraries (Redux, NgRx, Vuex, etc.)
• Micro‑frontend architecture and Module Federation
• Canvas / WebGL visualization and real‑time transports (WebSocket, SSE)
• Application state management at scale
• Frontend performance engineering and optimisation
• Backend API design and distributed system concepts
