Manager, Production Engineering

About the role

Crusoe is building a vertically integrated AI neocloud and needs a founding Engineering Manager for Production Engineering in Tel Aviv. You will create the local team, drive a shift to software‑defined operations, and ensure reliability at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor, and establish a high‑performing Production Engineering footprint, setting a culture of operational discipline.
• Partner with US and Dublin teams to run a follow‑the‑sun on‑call rotation and champion blameless post‑mortems.
• Drive alert‑reduction initiatives, automate manual workflows with modern runbook automation (e.g., Temporal), and build predictive monitoring.
• Act as the Production Gatekeeper across compute, storage, networking, and platform teams, enforcing Production Readiness Reviews and change control.
• Protect engineering bandwidth so at least 30% of time is spent on strategic automation, tooling, and firmware optimization.
• Convert repeat physical interventions into software‑defined auto‑remediation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or production engineering environments.
• 2+ years of direct leadership of first‑line engineering teams in high‑growth cloud or distributed settings.
• Strong hands‑on software engineering skills in Go, Python, C++ or comparable systems language.
• Expert knowledge of Linux internals, container orchestration at scale, and root‑cause analysis across physical‑to‑virtual boundaries.
• Proven ability to run tiered on‑call models, define SLIs/SLOs, and reduce paging fatigue.
