Senior Laboratory Technician

About the role

DustPhotonics, part of Credo, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join its advanced electro‑optics laboratory in Modiin Technology Park, Israel. The role involves hands‑on support for electro‑optical testing, characterization and development of silicon photonics components for high‑performance data‑center connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform optical and electrical measurements on electro‑optical components and devices.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as optical power meters, lasers, optical spectrum analyzers (OSA), source‑measure units (SMU) and other electrical/optical test equipment.
• Set up, calibrate and troubleshoot measurement setups according to defined procedures.
• Record, organize and analyse measurement data, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Assist engineers and physicists with experiments, development activities and troubleshooting.
• Support assembly, alignment and handling of optical components and devices.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in an electro‑optics, optics, electronics, semiconductor or photonics laboratory.
• Technical education such as Practical Engineer / Technician in Electronics, Optics or Electro‑Optics.
• Relevant experience gained through military service or university labs.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Operation of optical power meters.
• Use of lasers for testing.
• Experience with optical spectrum analyzers (OSA).
• Proficiency with source‑measure units (SMU) and related electrical instrumentation.
• Setup and maintenance of optical and electrical measurement equipment.
