Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer

About the role

PayPlus is building an AI‑powered retail operating system that handles payments, inventory, loyalty and more. We are looking for a Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer to shape the architecture of the next generation of our products, delivering shared, production‑grade code across Android and other platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop production applications using Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Own and evolve the shared KMP architecture across the product suite.
• Build reusable shared modules for domain logic, networking, data persistence, authentication, state management and synchronization.
• Define clear boundaries between shared KMP code and platform‑specific implementations.
• Develop platform‑specific integrations for Android and other supported platforms, including UI with Jetpack Compose and Compose Multiplatform.
• Integrate the application with payment terminals, printers, scanners, vending machines and other external hardware.
• Implement Bluetooth, USB, Serial and other hardware communication layers.
• Design robust offline‑first and synchronization mechanisms for unreliable connectivity.
• Build real‑time experiences connected to cloud services and event‑driven back‑ends.
• Optimize shared and platform‑specific code for performance, stability and reliability.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Kotlin language.
• Proven Android development background, including Jetpack Compose.
• Experience building cross‑platform UI with Compose Multiplatform.
• Hands‑on experience integrating hardware such as Bluetooth, USB, Serial devices, payment terminals, printers and scanners.
• Familiarity with offline‑first architecture, data synchronization and real‑time systems.
• Ability to work closely with backend, product, QA, DevOps and hardware teams.
