Construction Coordinator

About the role

The Construction Coordinator joins Alstom’s System Construction Site Coordination Team to oversee and report on all subsystem activities within an assigned construction area. Reporting to the Area Construction Manager, the role ensures smooth execution of infrastructure projects while maintaining safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor, record and report work activities of all subsystems and civil works.
• Act as liaison with Project Management, providing updates on inspections, subcontractor performance, progress and any delays.
• Proactively identify and resolve site issues that could impede project delivery, offering technical input to installing contractors.
• Verify and report clashes or coordination problems between subsystems, and manage handover/handback documentation, including snag lists.
• Assess work progress against the project schedule and ensure required permits are in place before work starts.
• Confirm that all activities follow approved drawings and management systems, and that each subsystem implements the 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method).
• Identify deviations from approved designs and report EHS hazards.
• Coordinate concurrent activities in the area, issuing daily performance and progress reports.

Required profile

• University degree.
• Previous experience on infrastructure construction projects.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Quality‑focused, rigorous and able to work effectively within a team.
