Software Engineering Technical Leader - Cloud Control

About the role

Cisco's Cloud Control group is looking for a Software Engineering Technical Leader to shape the user experience of Cisco Cloud Control. The role provides hands-on technical leadership to a growing engineering team in Tel Aviv while collaborating with global Cisco teams. It sits within the AI Software & Platform Group, which builds Generative AI-based solutions and internal platforms for Cisco's Security, Enterprise Networking, Collaboration and Splunk portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical direction, architecture and delivery of end-to-end product capabilities.
• Translate product goals into scalable designs and executable engineering plans.
• Design reliable distributed systems using relational and NoSQL databases, queues and event-driven architectures.
• Build high-quality, modern web experiences and supporting backend services.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, designers and global engineering teams on cross-product integrations.
• Drive security, scalability, resilience, performance and observability.
• Contribute to the codebase, review PRs and mentor engineers to build a high-performing team.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven experience designing, building and operating scalable, reliable distributed systems.
• Strong experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs and production operations.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with modern software development practices such as CI/CD, observability and production system integration.
• Preferred: experience managing geographically distributed full-stack teams, integrating AI capabilities into production software, and strong written and verbal English.
