Software Engineer II – Cloud Network

About the role

Google Cloud is looking for a Software Engineer II to build tools and data pipelines that bring transparency to its cloud network. You will design and maintain observability solutions, integrate generative AI workflows, and help troubleshoot complex networking issues for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop tools and data pipelines that provide visibility into Google’s cloud network.
• Design, implement, and maintain high‑impact observability solutions such as packet sample logs.
• Lead AI transformation initiatives by building Agentic tools and LLM‑driven diagnostic workflows.
• Scale data pipelines and ensure reliability of AI‑driven diagnostic suites.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to resolve customer escalations and complex network problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience in languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and integrating generative AI or LLM interfaces.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: Experience building or supporting observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
• Preferred: Deep knowledge of major cloud networking components (VPC, peering, firewalls, GKE/EKS).
• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex network issues in a public‑cloud environment.
