Senior System Engineer (Software Background)

About the role

GE HealthCare is hiring a Senior System Engineer with a software background in Haifa. The role covers system-level integration, requirements management, validation and verification, and includes direct people management. It suits someone who can work with some autonomy while following established policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct component and product integration, managing how multiple components and products integrate for maximum performance and operability.
• Manage product and system requirements, specifications and their flow-down, and define requirements for modules, components, subcontractors and partner teams.
• Drive validation and verification activities, including system-level testing, and manage interfaces between components and execution organizations.
• Drive CTQ / risk trades within the teams designing the components.
• Manage the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
• Manage staffing and performance development of team members, and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• May lead small, low-risk projects and help build team consensus on technical topics.

Required profile

• 6 years of experience in system engineering.
• Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, multi-component software systems, ideally in complex or safety-critical domains (medical imaging is a plus).
• Computer Science background is a strong plus.
• Ability to collaborate with Applications, UI/UX, Hardware, Firmware and V&V teams, and to communicate clearly across technical groups.

Required skills

• Software engineering principles: scalable design, code quality, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience integrating software, firmware and hardware interfaces.
• System-level requirements, architecture definition and technical leadership across teams.
• Project management skills and strong oral and written communication.
