SRE Tech Lead

About the role

HARMAN Automotive is looking for an SRE Tech Lead to lead technology staff and oversee all Harman Software Products solutions. The role leads and architects Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) architecture, drives improvements and keeps pace with growth while motivating change to deliver resilient services to customers. It reports to the Director of Operations and functionsally manages technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Act as customer champion and turnaround specialist, solving complex global customer service issues and preventing negative service trends.
• Champion customer RFP proposals with estimates for cloud, application, service-level and implementation requirements.
• Work with R&D and Engineering teams so operational issues are prioritized and resolved.
• Own performance, capacity and forecasting of cloud and application stacks.
• Interview, train and motivate team members, and build strong relationships with direct reports, peers and leadership.
• Support the sourcing strategy and oversee IT vendor relationship management.
• Support troubleshooting and service restoration during incidents and outages.

Required profile

• 13+ years of software services background, especially automotive experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders; proven RFP response and solution estimation capability.
• Willingness to travel about 15% of the time, complete a background investigation and work from the office 3 days a week.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of automotive IoT solutions on public cloud and Kubernetes.
• Java-based stacks, PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, Cosmos DB and edge computing.
• HiveMQ, Kafka and MQTT; CI/CD and DevSecOps (GitHub).
• Software-defined vehicle architecture, compliance and cybersecurity in automotive.
• AIOps, APM, distributed tracing, automation and cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure preferred).
