Senior Security Operations Engineer

About the role

The Senior Security Operations Engineer will work on the front lines of Paxos' security program, protecting the organization by detecting, investigating, and containing threats across endpoints, cloud infrastructure, and network telemetry.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging, investigating, and responding to security alerts across endpoints, cloud infrastructure, and network telemetry.
• Automating repetitive workflows and applying AI to increase speed, scale, and effectiveness of investigations.
• Executing containment and remediation actions for confirmed incidents while continuously improving runbooks.
• Maintaining and tuning SIEM and EDR detections to reduce false positives and close coverage gaps.
• Applying threat intelligence, including IOCs and TTPs, to active investigations and ongoing monitoring.
• Participating in on‑call rotation and producing clear post‑incident documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in security operations, detection and response, or related security engineering.
• Proven ability to lead investigations and manage complex incidents from triage through recovery.
• Strong analytical judgment, calm decision‑making under pressure, and ability to prioritize high‑severity alerts.
• Experience mentoring teammates and influencing security processes and tooling.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation and document incidents thoroughly.
