Senior Controller

About the role

Balance is seeking an exceptional Senior Controller to lead its finance function as the company scales. This hands‑on, high‑impact position blends deep accounting expertise with strong business judgment and the ability to partner across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Own the company’s accounting and financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual close, and consolidated reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Manage and develop the finance team (Assistant Controller and Accountant) while ensuring accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Oversee revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, accruals and balance‑sheet management.
• Partner with the VP Finance and Operations on analysis, budgeting, forecasting, strategic initiatives and cross‑functional financial matters.
• Lead international tax matters, annual audits and coordination with external advisors and auditors.
• Continuously improve processes, systems, automation and internal controls to support complex transactions and new products.

Required profile

• CPA with 7+ years of relevant experience; startup or high‑growth technology background preferred.
• Strong experience with consolidations, multi‑entity accounting and international operations.
• Highly analytical and commercially minded, able to translate numbers into business insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive, hands‑on and highly organized in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
