Rolling Stock Expert - Urban Railway Projects

About the role

Egis, an international group in construction engineering and mobility services, is looking for a Rolling Stock Expert based in Jerusalem. You will work on the Urban Railway / LRT projects in Jerusalem and on future transportation projects in Israel, leading the rolling stock area and supervising the implementation of new rolling stock on the Blue Line of the Jerusalem LRT network. The role reports to the Head of the Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review the contractor's design documentation for rolling stock works and construction activities against tender specifications, international standards and the state of the art
• Prepare Documents Review Sheets (DRS)
• Follow up the construction, delivery and tests of the whole fleet
• Support the public transport client regularly on project activities
• Take part in and coordinate rolling stock meetings such as design reviews, interfacing and testing supervision at contractor, sub-contractor and customer sites
• Prepare and issue minutes of meetings
• Coordinate with other services on interfacing and commissioning of the rolling stock

Required profile

• Professional engineer with a professional license; graduates need an engineering degree, and membership of a recognized engineering body is better but not mandatory
• At least 10 years of experience in rolling stock, ideally including light rail vehicles (the text notes a possible 20-year requirement)
• Knowledge of railway rolling stock structures and of railway test environments
• Experience in root cause analysis of mechanical issues on rolling stock in service
• Good knowledge of materials, electrical and pneumatic systems and structural analysis
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Systemic vision, team player, organized and sensitive to customer service
