Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Plus500 is seeking a motivated mid‑level backend software engineer to help build high‑scale, distributed trading systems for its global online platform. You will join a Scrum‑Agile, cross‑functional team in Haifa, collaborating with front‑end, quality, product and infrastructure engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high‑availability mission‑critical APIs and services.
• Migrate large‑scale trading services to cloud‑native micro‑services architecture.
• Implement distributed, asynchronous messaging solutions.
• Address performance, fault‑tolerance, security and live production issues.
• Work closely with product, DevOps/SRE and infrastructure teams, owning the full lifecycle of your code.
• Mentor junior engineers as a senior member of the team.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience building SaaS applications, preferably in a service‑oriented architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills, ownership mindset and ability to give/receive technical feedback.

Required skills

• C# and/or Java programming.
• Modern web development frameworks.
• Optimized SQL and experience with multiple datastores.
• Design of cloud‑native micro‑services.
• Distributed systems and asynchronous messaging.
• Understanding of web security principles (plus).
