Lead C++ Software Engineer

About the role

As a Lead C++ Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you will design and develop performance‑critical software for next‑generation semiconductor and display equipment. You will work on real‑time image processing modules and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑impact solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate, design, and develop optimized software for high‑end processing products.
• Make technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain HW‑dependent software such as frame grabbers and dedicated boards.
• Profile performance and implement optimizations to meet sub‑millisecond requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• At least 8 years of professional C++ development experience (C++11/17).
• Experience with modern RPC APIs such as gRPC.
• Proven ability to work in large, highly optimized code bases and lead technical discussions.
