Lakebase Sales Specialist
Databricks · Herzliya
Job description
About the role
Databricks is looking for a Lakebase Sales Specialist to help customers modernize their operational data foundation with Lakebase, its fully-managed Postgres offering for intelligent applications. The role sits in the Lakebase Go-To-Market team and works closely with regional Account Executives to drive adoption with platform, application and data teams. It focuses on two motions: establishing strategic focus accounts and driving Postgres standardization and migration in Databricks' most important accounts.
Key responsibilities
- Drive new Lakebase revenue by identifying, qualifying and activating Lakebase within a territory, together with regional Account Executives.
- Engage platform teams, developers, data teams and central IT to show how Lakebase speeds feature delivery, simplifies data architecture and improves governance and cost.
- Sell fully-managed Postgres for operational workloads powering real-time, AI-driven applications.
- Run complex sales cycles from discovery through negotiation and close, covering executive, technical and line-of-business stakeholders.
- Run proof-of-value and POCs for OLTP-style workloads, reverse ETL and AI/ML applications with solution architects.
- Compete against legacy and cloud-native operational databases using benchmarks and customer references.
- Work with Product, Marketing, Customer Success and Partner teams on territory plans, launches and co-selling with ISVs and GSIs.
- Share best practices and success stories with the wider sales team.
Required profile
- Proven enterprise SaaS sales experience, consistently exceeding quota in complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- Experience selling data platforms, operational databases or data/AI infrastructure to technical buyers and business leaders.
- Experience leading specialist or overlay motions alongside core Account Executives.
- Ability to whiteboard architectures, lead C-level conversations and present to large and small audiences.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Required skills
- Understanding of modern data and application architectures, including cloud-native services, microservices and event-driven systems.
- Preferred: experience selling Postgres, OLTP workloads or transactional cloud databases in large accounts.
- Preferred: familiarity with data platforms, lakehouse architectures and cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Preferred: knowledge of reverse ETL, real-time decisioning, AI-native applications and partner co-selling.
