Head of Research

About the role

Dash Security is building a security layer for the agentic enterprise and is looking for a Head of Research to define and lead its AI agent security research agenda. Reporting to the Co‑founder and CTO, you will shape how AI agents are abused and translate findings into the core detections and runtime protections of the product.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and manage a team of AI security researchers, fostering a culture of rigor, speed, and ownership.
• Identify emerging agentic threats, prioritize research projects, and set a roadmap aligned with product and customer needs.
• Establish threat‑intelligence processes for collecting, triaging, and operationalising intelligence on agentic attacks.
• Partner with engineering and product to turn research findings into production detections, runtime policies, and governance capabilities.
• Define detection standards, coverage models, efficacy measurement, and false‑positive/negative management at enterprise scale.
• Lead deep technical dives into platform architectures, monitoring boundaries, and end‑to‑end proofs‑of‑concept for critical attack paths.
• Publish research, advisories, and vulnerability disclosures; speak at security conferences to build Dash’s reputation.
• Provide research expertise for customer engagements, incident investigations, and strategic accounts.

Required profile

• BSc./MSc. in Computer Science, Security, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of security research experience, including 3+ years leading a research team.
• Proven track record building threat‑intelligence or research processes from scratch.
• Public research record such as vulnerability disclosures, CVEs, publications, or conference talks.
• Deep familiarity with AI and agent attack surfaces (prompt injection, tool abuse, agent hijacking, data exfiltration).
• Hands‑on experience with coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and practical use of MCP servers, skills, hooks.
• Demonstrated ability to productise research into differentiated security outcomes.
• Strong grasp of cloud, SaaS, and endpoint security models, especially identity and data access.
