Head of Audit (Israel)

About the role

The Head of Audit – Israel leads Citi’s audit activities in Israel, applying in‑depth disciplinary knowledge to assess risk and control environments. The role ensures the execution of the country audit assurance plan in line with Citi Internal Audit methodology and coordinates closely with regional audit teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the Israel audit plan, understand the regulatory landscape and key risks, and oversee work of audit team members.
• Deliver high‑quality audit reports, validate internal audit and regulatory issues, and provide governance committee reporting.
• Act as Audit Controller for other Middle East and Africa countries, overseeing audits and issue validations as required.
• Lead, supervise and develop a medium‑sized audit team to ensure quality delivery.
• Represent the Internal Audit function in regulator discussions and fulfil regulatory commitments.
• Partner with IA product and functional teams to align on critical priorities and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with IA Quality Assurance and Management Information teams to address findings and analyse audit data.
• Assess risk for business decisions, uphold Citi’s reputation, and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Maintain a constructive relationship with the Citi Country Officer and support governance, risk management and internal control activities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in internal audit within banking or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of Israel’s regulatory environment and the broader MEA region.
• Proven ability to lead and develop audit teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
• Sound ethical judgment and ability to manage control issues transparently.
• Experience interacting with regulators and senior business stakeholders.
