Director of Israel Tax

About the role

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Director of Tax for its Israeli entities. Based in Tel Aviv, the role reports to the VP of Global Tax in California and collaborates with the global tax team to shape corporate tax strategy, compliance, and controversy management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage enterprise status, R&D incentives, innovation tax credits and corporate structuring.
• Oversee preparation, review and filing of all Israeli tax returns.
• Partner with global tax and accounting teams on Israeli tax provisions and ASC 740 reporting.
• Advise on statutory accounts, employee equity plans (Section 102) and intercompany transfer‑pricing policies.
• Optimize cross‑border withholding tax positions using bilateral treaties.
• Represent the company before the Israel Tax Authority and lead audit defence.
• Support pre‑rulings, APAs, MAPs, M&A, restructurings and post‑merger tax rationalisation.
• Evaluate and implement strategies for global tax developments, including OECD Pillar Two GloBE rules.

Required profile

• 10+ years progressive tax consulting or corporate tax experience in Big 4 or US multinational environments.
• CPA qualification in Israel.
• Deep expertise in Israeli Income Tax Ordinance, VAT Law, Section 102 equity regulations and the Encouragement of Capital Investments Law.
• Proven track record negotiating pre‑rulings and defending complex audits with the Israel Tax Authority.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 740) and OECD transfer‑pricing principles.
• Fluent in English and Hebrew with excellent communication skills for C‑suite audiences.
