Data & AI Platform Team Leader

About the role

GE HealthCare is looking for a Data & AI Infrastructure Team Leader in Haifa to lead a team of Data Engineers and Software Engineers building clinical applications that power next-generation AI healthcare solutions. The team provides data management solutions, AI development infrastructure, software integration frameworks, evaluation and verification capabilities, and scalable deployment mechanisms. The role calls for end-to-end ownership, from understanding customer needs and product requirements to enabling successful product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of Data Engineers and Software Engineers, define priorities, roadmap and execution plans, and foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Algorithm, Clinical, Product, Verification, Regulatory and Systems Engineering teams.
• Establish technical standards, best practices and development processes.
• Lead design, development and maintenance of enterprise-grade data infrastructure, including database architecture, data repositories and clinical data collection, anonymization, curation, annotation, versioning, traceability and lifecycle management.
• Maintain integrations with internal GE HealthCare systems and ensure secure, compliant data access for global teams, supporting regulatory submissions through reproducible, auditable data preparation.
• Develop reusable SDKs, plugins, APIs and services, and support integration of AI into Linux and Windows medical device platforms.
• Set up automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, regression, performance, system) and CI/CD pipelines, and build tools for algorithm execution, debugging, performance evaluation and reproducibility.
• Ensure compliance with medical device quality systems and FDA regulations, and support audits, submissions and lifecycle management with Quality, Regulatory and Product teams.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, platform engineering or related disciplines.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Preferred: experience in medical devices, healthcare software or regulated industries, and knowledge of DICOM and FHIR.

Required skills

• Strong programming in Python and modern software development practices.
• Deep knowledge of SQL, databases and large-scale data processing.
• Building and maintaining APIs, SDKs, services and distributed systems.
• Automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Preferred: Linux and Windows development environments, cloud platforms, DevOps, and FDA design controls.
