Controller for Tech Startups & Public Companies

About the role

Optivial Finance is seeking a Controller to manage accounting operations for a portfolio of tech startups and publicly listed companies. You will work directly with founders, CFOs, and leadership teams across Israel and the United States, gaining exposure to both private and public financial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day accounting operations and monthly/quarterly close for multiple clients.
• Prepare financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS, including for publicly traded entities.
• Support public‑company reporting to Israeli and global stock exchanges.
• Collaborate with client leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Manage cross‑border accounting matters such as intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and multi‑currency accounting.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and payroll providers.
• Improve and automate accounting workflows using AI tools like Claude.

Required profile

• CPA qualification with a completed internship at a Big 4 firm.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Strong command of US GAAP and/or IFRS and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Priority, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to incorporate AI tools (Claude or similar) into daily workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Independent, proactive, and comfortable managing several clients in parallel.
