Computer Vision & AI Algorithm Engineer

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a hands‑on Computer Vision & AI Algorithm Engineer to develop advanced imaging algorithms for a cutting‑edge medical device. The role covers the full lifecycle of algorithm development, from concept through validation and product integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve AI, computer vision and image‑processing algorithms for a medical imaging product.
• Own the full lifecycle of algorithm development, including data definition, implementation, validation, integration and long‑term maintenance.
• Collaborate with software developers, biomedical engineers and product specialists to enhance existing applications and ensure robustness in production.
• Identify innovation opportunities and design novel algorithms for image classification, segmentation and 3D modeling.

Required profile

• M.Sc. (or excellent B.Sc.) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related field.
• Proven experience developing and implementing AI, computer‑vision and image‑processing algorithms.
• Ability to lead technical projects independently from concept through deployment.

Required skills

• Deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• MATLAB for algorithm development and analysis.
• Strong understanding of data quality, dataset design, model evaluation and performance analysis.
