Algorithm Software Engineer - Medical Imaging

About the role

GE Healthcare is hiring a Reconstruction Software Engineer in Haifa to design and implement medical imaging tomographic reconstruction software for its Molecular Imaging scanner products. The role covers architecture, design, coding and performance optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Coding of algorithms and reconstruction tools in C++ / OpenCL / CUDA parallel environments
• Architecture and design of complex software subsystems
• Working with algorithms engineers and scientists to understand mathematical and physical algorithms and design optimal implementations
• Defining interfaces between the Reconstruction environment and other software subsystems
• Optimizing reconstruction engines for runtime performance and memory usage
• Writing software requirements and design documents, and designing and running unit tests
• Supporting the Verification & Validation team on system testing plans and field investigations when needed
• Data and configuration management of generated code, technical reviews and keeping up with computing and software trends

Required profile

• B.A./B.Sc./M.Sc. in computer science, computer engineering or software engineering
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in C/C++
• Experience in software architecture and design
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Required skills

• Excellent C/C++ programming, debugging, performance analysis and testing
• Desired: 5+ years of algorithm implementation experience
• Desired: parallel programming on multi-core CPUs and GPUs, OpenCL and CUDA
• Desired: MATLAB, Python, image processing and strong performance optimization skills
