AI Researcher – LLMs & Conversational AI

About the role

Loora is building the first personal AI English tutor and needs an AI Researcher to design and enhance its core intelligence capabilities. You will work at the frontier of large language models and conversational AI, turning research breakthroughs into product impact for millions of language learners.

Key responsibilities

• Drive original AI research across LLMs, dialogue systems, speech, and language understanding—from hypothesis through design to deployment.
• Design and run rigorous experiments; develop novel model architectures, fine‑tuning strategies, and training methodologies.
• Own the full research lifecycle—ideation, experimentation, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Apply and extend state‑of‑the‑art techniques (RL, instruction tuning, RAG, agentic workflows, multimodal models) to real user‑facing challenges.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to transform research findings into shipped features.
• Define research direction in your area and contribute to Loora's long‑term AI roadmap.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in Machine Learning, AI, NLP, or a related field.
• Track record of bringing academic research to industry applications.
• Strong publication record at top‑tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, or NAACL.
• Proven experience researching and deploying production‑grade ML or AI systems.
• Deep hands‑on experience with PyTorch, Transformers, and modern LLM tooling.
• Solid understanding of LLM pretraining, fine‑tuning, post‑training and alignment techniques.
• Strong coding skills and comfort working across the research‑to‑production boundary.
