SoC Power Architect – Cloud Silicon

About the role

Google is looking for a senior SoC Power Architect to lead power‑efficiency strategy for next‑generation cloud silicon. You will shape the energy profile of custom chips that power Google services worldwide, working at the intersection of architecture, logic design, physical implementation and system software.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the power architecture for new custom SoCs, balancing performance, thermal limits and power delivery.
• Develop and apply power‑and‑performance modeling tools to evaluate architectural trade‑offs.
• Implement low‑power design techniques such as UPF/CPF, multi‑voltage islands, power gating and clock gating.
• Collaborate with physical design, verification and software teams to ensure power integrity across the full chip.
• Lead post‑silicon bring‑up, power calibration, thermal management and debugging activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• At least 10 years of ASIC/SoC architecture or design experience with a focus on power optimization.
• Proven experience using industry‑standard EDA power tools (e.g., Conformal LP, Power‑Artist, PrimeTime‑PX, Joules).
• Hands‑on knowledge of low‑power design methodologies and on‑chip power‑management IP.
• Experience with full‑chip power‑integrity analysis, power sequencing and post‑silicon validation.
