Staff Data Scientist – Identity Graph Engine

About the role

Riskified is looking for a Staff Data Scientist to lead the innovation roadmap of its Identity Graph Engine. You will design, research, and deploy cutting‑edge machine‑learning models that power identity resolution and fraud prevention at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and advance the next generation of the Identity Graph Engine using graph models, transformers, and advanced ML techniques.
• Define the research roadmap for identity resolution, set technical standards, and guide projects from concept to high‑throughput production.
• Build scalable predictive and representation‑learning models over large tabular, sequence, and graph‑structured datasets.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Core Software, and Product teams to integrate complex ML pipelines into real‑time production.
• Benchmark state‑of‑the‑art academic research, translate it into business solutions, and mentor senior data scientists.

Required profile

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 6+ years of hands‑on experience designing, training, and deploying complex ML models in large‑scale production.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and setting architectural direction.
• Experience with large‑scale distributed data processing systems (e.g., Spark, Databricks) and graph databases/frameworks.

Required skills

• Transformers and deep neural networks (DNNs).
• Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and advanced tabular learning architectures.
• Big‑data ecosystems such as Spark and Databricks.
• Graph databases and frameworks for network modeling.
