Motion Control Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Motion Control Engineer to join its Motion and Control group in Rehovot. The role involves end‑to‑end development of multi‑axis motion systems for advanced semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture design, specification definition, concept and feasibility testing, and vendor selection for servo‑system projects.
• Model, simulate, create motion profiles, design control algorithms, conduct lab tests, integrate systems, and manage configuration control and serial production transition.
• Develop and maintain the development plan, timeline, and budget while coordinating with electrical, mechanical, software, operations, manufacturing, and support teams.
• Facilitate periodic and ad‑hoc technical review meetings.

Required profile

• B.Sc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on control.
• At least 5 years of experience in servo‑system design, testing, and integration.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of linear and non‑linear control, friction, and robust control systems.
• Excellent English communication skills.
