Staff Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of core backend components within Aidoc’s R&D organization. The role combines hands‑on coding with architectural leadership to build scalable, reliable systems that power AI‑driven medical imaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable and reliable backend services.
• Drive architectural discussions and make key technical decisions within your domain.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business and product goals into technical solutions.
• Deliver high‑quality, maintainable, and testable code while ensuring security, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Continuously improve development processes, observability, and deployment pipelines.
• Contribute to the evolution of the platform’s architecture as the company and product scale.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience designing and developing complex, production‑grade systems.
• Proven track record in architecting and leading large‑scale software projects.
• Deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, and software architecture patterns.
• Strong coding skills in one or more modern backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, Java, C#).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS or equivalent), containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Experience designing and scaling event‑driven architectures and data‑intensive systems.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to align multiple teams toward a shared technical vision.
• A proactive mindset, strong sense of ownership, and passion for solving complex engineering problems.
