Senior Tax Manager

About the role

Agora is building a modern accounting and tax practice for real‑estate investment firms. As a Senior Tax Manager you will be the primary client contact on assigned engagements, reviewing partnership returns and ensuring the practice’s quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Review federal and state partnership tax returns for real‑estate clients before CPA sign‑off.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, handling planning discussions, mid‑year queries, deliverable timing, and K‑1 escalations.
• Mentor and develop junior preparers, providing constructive reviewer comments.
• Oversee offshore preparation teams, set expectations, review output, and close quality loops.
• Escalate complex or novel matters to the CPA with clear analysis.
• Help refine work‑paper standards, review checklists, and AI/automation workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of public‑accounting experience with a focus on review work.
• Deep partnership tax expertise, preferably with a real‑estate focus.
• Experience with foreign investors and offshore investment structures is a plus.
• Comfortable working with offshore/outsourced teams.
• CPA or EA license preferred.

Required skills

• CCH tax software knowledge.
