Senior Software Engineer – Networking and Drivers

About the role

Xsight Labs is a pre‑IPO silicon startup developing high‑performance networking silicon for cloud datacenters and edge. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Networking and Drivers team, you will lead the design and implementation of low‑level data paths and device drivers, working closely with silicon, firmware, and validation groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of user‑space and driver components, including packet I/O, control paths, and performance tooling.
• Drive software/hardware integration, board bring‑up, and root‑cause complex issues across driver, firmware, and silicon layers.
• Optimize throughput, latency, and CPU utilization; add profiling, tracing, and automated tests to prevent regressions.
• Participate in cross‑functional design reviews, document designs, and promote best practices in code quality and testing.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on software development in C on Linux.
• Proven experience in networking (NICs, switches, packet processing, data‑plane/IO stacks).
• Strong systems fundamentals: concurrency, memory management, performance profiling, and debugging (gdb, perf, ftrace, tcpdump/Wireshark).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead projects across teams.
